An Indian savory dough nut maker! We call it medu vada here down south of India!!! LOL
But I don't use it, I shape them with my hand. Pat the batter on the hand into a roundel. Poke in the center with the thumb and slide it off the palm into hot oil. That's the way I like to do it:)
I can sense you are excited to make medu vadas, dahi vada using it. Enjoy Nupur!
Yeah, medhu vada maker. My parents bought one for me on their trip to India last year...but sadly it does not work well (for me anyway) so now lives in a dark corner of a cupboard waiting until I don't feel too bad about throwing it out!
I wish I had one of those.....sighhhh Apart from being a Medu Wada maker, I would use it to make German SpƤtzle ( usually hand cut soft noodle made from egg, flour and a pinch of salt and nutmeg ). Or use them to make what here in Mexico are called " churros " ( a pastry batter pipe directly into hot fat and then sprinkled with sugar, typically taken with a cup of hot chocolate ). I could think of several uses....but alas Mexico is not a kitchen gadget place, especially when it comes to Indian/Asian things....:o(.
